In ancient Rome the word civitas was used to express the condition of Roman citizenship. The term has since broadened, coming to mean a shared responsibility, a common purpose. For us, Civitas is community – and a commitment to bettering it.
Civitas, LLC is a national community development consulting firm based in Charleston, SC with remote offices throughout the U.S. We help government, non-profit and for-profit enterprises solve problems and implement solutions.
Our company’s initial primary line of effort was providing targeted services related to HUD’s Consolidated Planning for HUD Entitlement Grant Programs. While we continue to serve as nationwide HUD technical assistance experts, we have expanded our reach to facilitate a variety of community development and economic development programs. These services include municipal housing needs assessments, Economic Development Initiative - Community Project Funding program implementation, multi-family housing underwriting, collaborative solutions to address the challenges of homelessness, and more.
